Free e-Book for Parents

Several months ago, we wrote a blog post about how to prepare a child for reading.  (See blog post of March 19, 2015, https://www.successreading.org/prepare_your_child_for_reading/.)  While this blog post had some great tips for parents, we realized that more was needed.  There are steps that parents can take well before a child is ready to start reading, which can help prepare that child for the time when they do start learning to read.  In fact, there are steps that parents can take at many stages of child development for this purpose, including when the child is a young baby.

Rather than simply update the previous blog post or add a new post, we decided to put all of the information together into an e-book which parents can save for future reference and that they could easily share with other parents of young children.  We are quite proud of our new little e-book and we have received some pretty good feedback from the few people that have seen it already.  A number of people said that not only did they like the information in the book but really loved the photos it contained.  We’ve had several people say they thought it was quiet aesthetic.

Please take a look at this new little e-book and let us know what you think.

Here is a shortened link to it: http://ow.ly/RLJgF

Also, please feel free to share this link with friends, family or anyone else you think may find the information helpful.

Thank you,

The Success Reading Team

  1. So exciting! I loved tahecing my kids to read. It is my favorite thing EVER because seeing the lights come on when they “get it” is SO COOL. You should look at Bob Books. They are short, simple books that come in sets, in three levels. Short enough not to be overwhelming, but long enough that they really feel like to accomplished something when they finish them! 🙂 Have fun!

    • This is great Joelso! Yes, that is exactly what we like to see also, which is why we created our phonics cards.
We are familiar with the Bob Books and have used them with our beginner readers. However, we are in the process of writing our own beginner reader books which will more closely align with our phonics cards.
By the way, I’m so glad that you posted this comment because while reading it, I noticed that I had the wrong link noted for the free online e-book for parents. I had updated the book but apparently had forgotten to update the link in our blog. That has now been updated.
If you would like to look at this free e-book, this is the correct link: http://ow.ly/RLJgF
Thank you very much for your comment and we wish you continued success with helping children learn to read.
      Sincerely,
